finarX Fax for iPhone User's Manual
Please open the Settings Menu before first use of the application. There you have to enter your account data (Menu "Faxprovider") for at least one of the supported fax service provider. If you don't have an account you can jump to the website by tapping on one of the providerlogos. We recommend InterFax, because they support faxing of MSOffice files and have no problems with voip based faxnumbers as Sipgate has (due to the Sipgate homepage it is not possible to send faxes to certain numbers, like GMX fax service). |

| Please select or enter your name and faxnumber on the "Sender" page. You can there also enter a subject template. This information will used on the frontpage if you select to use one. |

The page "Fax" allows to set image processing options, wheter you want to save images automatically to the camroll. If you keep actual images when exiting the application. You can also decide here to switch off the frontpage. If you want a logo on your subjectpage you can use the built in fileserver (Settings->Fileserver) to upload a logo.png. This file will be placed on the background of the complete subjectpage. You can download our default logo.png (595 x 842 px) and modify it before uploading again. |

Please select a recipient from your contacts (tappig the plus symbol) or enter a name and number manually by tapping into the textfields. Edit, if desired, the subject. If you want to change the template permanently go to the settings section ("Sender" page) and do this there. Now add pages to your fax document by tapping the "Add Page" button. In the following dialog you can choose whether you want to select a document from your cam roll ("Photos"), take an image ("Cam"), add a textpage (to manually type the text) or open a pdf document from either your iDisk or local iPhone. You can retake the picture until you find the picture acceptable. Please note that enough light is essential for a good result. If the background is darker than the document itself the application tries to find the edges of the document itself. If necessary you can tap and drag the makers by yourself. |  | |

| Now you can either send the document right away or check the document by tapping the "Preview" button. | | After sending the document you will find the sent fax and the transmission result on the "Sent FAX" View. Here you can check the result of the transmission. Please note that we only can display the result of the transmission to the fax service provider. If the fax was actually sent succesfuls you can check on the website of the service provider. If you want you can select a sent fax here for resending. |
| Known issues: Occasionally the iPhone gets problems with shortage of memory. Then the iPhone forces memory intensive applications to quit. It is no crash of the application! To fix this problem you have to free memory on your iPhone. You can do this by opening the safari browser and pressing and holding the home button until the application quits.
