finarX Books for Android
Read PDF books offline on Android mobile devices
Google android based devices do not natively support displaying PDF (Portable Document Format) files. For reading large PDF files the finarX Books product provides a solution by converting PDF books or documents into an image based file format. This guarantees fast display and low power consumption compared to products that choose to render the PDF on the mobile device.
The transfer between your phone and your dektop computer is absolutely safe, because it only uses physical connections.

Now available in a Google Market near your.
Special attention has been payed to high quality rendering, performance, security and privacy issues. Therefore the PDF is converted by a desktop computer application provided for download by finarX.
Documents are only transferred via the secure USB connector. Your documents will not be transferred to or stored on any server. The finarX Books viewer is an easy to use mobile application for a large bookshelf of electronic books.
It utilizes special sensors of the Google G1 (and other android based phones we will see in the years to come) that provide orientation information. This allows to scroll the document from left to right and back by tilting the device left or right. So your fingers will not need to touch the screen or the buttons while reading.
Due to the reduced resolution of mobile devices a page will be displayed in two parts (double screen resolution) which has appered to be an ideal trade between text size and screen scrolling.
For the conversion process and managment of the converted books and documents a dektop computer is needed. Currently the Microsoft Windows operating systems XP, Vista and Windows 7 are supported in their 32-bit versions. For 64-bit Vista there is limited support (requires a 32-bit Java Runtime Environment, yet).
Support for MacOS X (Cocoa) and native Vista 64-bit is current work in progress. Please contact us via the support form to receive beta versions.
If you miss some function please tell us. We will collect change request of customers and implement functions according to the number of requests.
